| | Views from EuroMast in Rotterdam |
After a sleep in that was interrupted by an early morning phone call,
was at EuroMast which is a tall spire. We had a chance to watch people
abseil from the platform where the photos above were taken from. There
was another bit where you could take a flying fox type thing down from
the same level and across the adjacent park.
It was a good view since the country is so flat you could see for a
long way.
From there we went to the coast. There were quite a lot of locals at
the beach but it wasn't what this Aussie guy was used to. We saw one
optimist as the waves barely made it to ankle height. We just enjoyed
doing nothing while having an ice cream.

| | You wanted Windmills ? |
Seeing that we were in the land of windmills we had to go have a
look and some. There were some modern electricity generating windmills
but they're not the same. We climbed up inside one of the real ones
and saw how it could be turned to point into the wind and how it could
be stopped with brakes. They were used to pump water from inside the
dyke and back to the North Sea and as they could only raise the water
about 1.2m so there was often a line of several windmills to raise the
water over the height of the dyke.
twin brother and his girlfriend. A bit of a quiet night with a bit of
tv after walking the dog.
